Scanning Entire Hard Drive macOS 10.13 High Sierra & Error13

Postby alvarnell » Mon 02 Oct 2017 2:12 am

There are currently some minor incompatibilities with APFS (the new hard disk format) on macOS 10.13 High Sierra. Error 13 is sometimes indicated.

The error usually appears to happen when you attempt to scan the entire hard drive, so that option has been disabled for the time being. For now, you'll need to scan your disk in smaller chunks - the areas to concentrate on are your home folder (listed in the source list as your name with a picture of the house beside it) and your Applications folder.

Any other areas are either not able to be written to by malware, or are already being monitored by ClamXAV Sentry.

There will be a version of ClamXAV available soon which will fully support macOS 10.13.
