Clamd Overloading CPU/Sentry Issues

This morning (27th December) I am seeing major issues with Clamd and Sentry.

All fine yesterday but today Clamd is taking massive amounts of CPU and Sentry is taking several minutes to start. Eventually Clamd releases the CPU and Sentry starts. Things are back to normal at this point. Happens every time the machines are rebooted, not just initial one on 27th.

All machines (Lion, El Cap, Sierra) affected as are all users (Admin, non-Admin).

Could this be a definition/update issue? Sees that from the logs the update runs OK but no indication (due to lack of time stamping) as to how long this takes.

Anyone else seeing this today?

Still happening 28/12/16 on all machines.
On one machine (Early 2011 Macbook Pro i7) Clamd hogs the CPU for 6 minutes before Sentry appears to start, according to the logs:

Is no-one else seeing this issue? I'm concerned its just my machines but can't figure out why all 3 are the same. I guess given the time of year etc people just haven't noticed or are busy elsewhere. Will continue to monitor and report back.

I'm on vacation until the new year with no access to a computer.

I have noticed that most of my Unofficial ClamXavipdates fail when my Mac is awakened (I almost never shut it down) so I simply do amanual update when I get an opportunity.

If your issues continue then you should open a help desk ticket.

As of PM on 28/12 the issue appears to be resolved.
Restarting the Macs now has Sentry start within seconds (as before) rather than minutes.
Logs back to normal in terms of timings.
No idea why this has fixed itself but it seems fine. Possibly a def update?
Anyway will continue to monitor.

Sounds more like a network issue to me. I've suspected Marks server for some time.
